To select the correct post use the following tips:

⊕ Typical Gap between panel & ground = 50-100mm
⊕ Typical length required in post hole = 500mm
⊕ For cement-in posts it’s cheapest to use Custom Posts (Anchor Finn) and trim to suit
⊕ For fencing on a slope use Custom Posts and trim to suit
⊕ All posts come with a free Top Cap

Post Layout & Setup
  • String Line
  • Tape Measure
  • Post Level
  • Spray Paint (For Post locations)
Post & Panel Install
  • Tek Drill
  • Tek Drill-Bits
  • White Pen Marker
  • Spirit Level
Gate Installation
  • Clamps x2
  • 20-50mm Bottom Spacing Packers (Sit your gate on top to set the bottom spacing gap)

Follow These Steps:

STEP 01)  Measure onsite the OVERALL lengths where you want your new DIY Fence to go. (Ensure to add dimensions for Gate Locations)

STEP 02)  Simply draw your fence out on a blank page, include gate locations

STEP 03)  Start Marking out the Center to Center Post Locations (aka CC) using the following dimensions:

  • Single Gate (975W)  (CC = 1065mm*) = 50mm Post + 20/25mm Hinge Gap + 975W Gate + 20mm Latch Gap
  • Double Gates (2x 975W) (CC = 2060mm*) = 50mm Post + 40/50mm Hinge Gap + 2x 975W Gates + 20mm Latch Gap

STEP 04)
Next calculate the number of Fixed Panels you will need:

  • STD Panel (2450W) (CC = 2495mm) = 50mm Post + 15mm Gap + 2450W Panel

STEP 05)  Now calculate all the parts required for your project:
  • For all straight sections simply divide the dimension between center of posts by 2495mm, if you have a decimal e.g. 3.4 you will need to round up to 4 Panels for that section
  • For every panel you will need to order 1x Bracket Kits
  • It’s recommended to use a minimum of 1 or 2 Anti-Tamper Screws per Bracket, Latch and Hinge
  • It’s recommended to order 1x Spare Pack of Tek Screws for your project, you’ll be surprised how many clients we’ve had drop, misplace or break Tek Screws therefore needing to stop, drive and buy more.
  • If you wish to lock your gates, then you will need to order one of the Heavy Duty Gate Kits
  • Standard Steel Hinge Kits come with 1x Left Pair of hinges as standard, to prevent people taking the gate off the hinge you will need to order 1x Right Pair of hinges.

.

* Depending on the hinge used, this will change the gap required
⊕ Deluxe Self Close Hinges = 20mm Gap
⊕ Heavy Duty Steel Hinges = 25mm Gap

Installing Flat Top Pool Fence is easy and suits level locations where the panels can be installed horizontally.

Follow our step by step guide above on how to install your Finn Fence.

Flat Top Fences are an easy project that can be done by one, preferably two people.

If you do have questions or concerns, please let us know.

Post selection for Finn Fences are based on the height of your fence panels and how you choose to fix your posts down (Cement-in or Chemical Anchor Bolts) Follow These Steps: STEP 01) Select how you want to anchor your posts down (Cement or Chemical Anchor Bolts) STEP 02) Select the height of your fence (1200H or 1800H) STEP 03) Calculate the Overall Post lengths using the following dimensions:
  • Cement-In 1200H (Flat Ground)  (Custom Post – 1800L) = 1200mm Panel Height + 50-100mm Ground Gap + 500mm Post In-Ground
  • Cement-In 1200H (Sloped Ground)  (Custom Post – 2100L) = More length is required for fencing on a slope (Trim to suit)
  • Cement-In 1800H (Flat & Sloped Ground)  (Full Post – 2400L) = 1800mm Panel Height + 50-100mm Ground Gap + 500mm Post In-Ground
  • Chemical Anchor Bolts 1200H (Flat Ground) (Easy Post – 1300L) = 1200mm Panel Height + 50-100mm Ground Gap
  • Chemical Anchor Bolts 1200H (Sloped Ground) (Easy Post – 1600L) = More length is required for fencing on a slope (Trim to suit)
  • Chemical Anchor Bolts 1800H (Flat Ground) (Full Post – 2400L) + (Matching Base Plate) = 1800mm Panel Height + 50-100mm Ground Gap (Trim to suit)
  • Chemical Anchor Bolts 1800H (Sloped Ground) (Full Post – 2400L) + (Matching Base Plate) = 1800mm Panel Height + 50-100mm Ground Gap + Slope gap (Trim to suit)

The installation of our gates is easy.

We recommend you have enough wood pieces to sit the gate at the right hight.

When fitting & drilling the latches onto the posts and gate, use clamps to hold the gate in the exact position.

Make sure you have even and parallel spacing between the gate and the pole and the latches sit on pole and gate correctly.

Follow These Steps:

STEP 01)  Measure onsite the OVERALL lengths where you want your new DIY Fence to go. (Ensure to add dimensions for Gate Locations)

STEP 02)  Simply draw your fence out on a blank page, include gate locations

  • Double Gates (2x 975W) (CC = 2060mm*) = 50mm Post + 40/50mm Hinge Gap + 2x 975W Gates + 20mm Latch Gap

STEP 04)
Next calculate the number of Fixed Panels you will need:

  • STD Panel (2450W) (CC = 2495mm) = 50mm Post + 15mm Gap + 2450W Panel
